The Great Lake Constance is located in the Müritz National Park in the Mecklenburg Lake District in southeast Mecklenburg in the urban area of Neustrelitz on the border with the municipality of Klein Many . It is about 1000 meters long and up to 700 meters wide with a circumference of about 3.6 kilometers. The lake is located in a wooded area southeast of Kratzeburg . It has an L-shaped surface with a west basin oriented in a north-south direction and an east basin oriented in an east-west direction. The eastern part of the water has steep banks, the highest points of which are sometimes over twenty meters above the lake level. The west bank is flat and swampy.
