Big horseshoe

Like the small horseshoe , the large horseshoe was a motivation badge of the FN for riders and vaulters of children and adolescents (up to and including 18 years).

With the training and examination regulations of the German Equestrian Association (APO) 2014, the large horseshoe was replaced by the riding badge 7 and the vaulting badge 7 . These are open to all age groups.

The exam

The badge test consisted of a practical and a theoretical part.

The practical exam dealt with leading and tying a horse, safety measures in the stable lane and horse care. Furthermore, the partial tests for riders and vaulters differed from one discipline to another.

Badges candidate in riding completed a simple department task was tested in whether their horse in walk, trot and canter dominated. There were also simple jumps to be shown when riding in the outdoor area.

In the practical part of the vaulting test, trotting or galloping along to the rhythm of the horse as well as jumping with assistance in walk or canter were tested. In addition, the vaulter showed five exercises at a gallop, which he could freely choose from a list. These were simpler compulsory and freestyle exercises such as B. free kneeling forwards or backwards, push- ups forwards , standing scales on horseback or in the loop. In addition, a double exercise in the step was required.

In a further test, the theoretical knowledge in relation to riding and vaulting, needs of the horse and equipment was tested.
