The Großsee is a reservoir with a storage target of 2,417 m above sea level. A. , which is located within the Goldberg Group in the community of Großkirchheim . The Großsee is connected by a 1.6 km long pressure tunnel to the Hochwurtenspeicher reservoir in the neighboring Fragant , which is roughly the same size and at the same height . The originally natural Karsee ( 2384 m ) was enlarged from 1972 to 1974 through the construction of a rock embankment with a surface seal made of asphalt concrete and a 367 m long crown.
