Great stone graves near Ankelohe

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The megalithic graves near Ankelohe were three megalithic graves from the Neolithic funnel beaker culture near Ankelohe , a district of the municipality of Geestland in the district of Cuxhaven ( Lower Saxony ). They were destroyed in the 19th century. Their exact location is not known. All three facilities had giant beds , the surrounding stones of which had been completely removed before 1841. The burial chambers were also damaged by this time. Johann Karl Wächter could see an unspecified number of wall stones and two rolled capstones in each grave. Conclusions about the exact type of grave are not possible based on this description.
