politics

Local councilor and local mayor

Ankelohe is represented at the municipal level by the Bad Bederkesa local council .

coat of arms

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Ankelohe comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Gustav Völker , who designed around 25 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.

Ankelohe coat of arms
Blazon : "In blue a silver , backward-peeking, golden- armed falcon ,top left with three golden beech leaves on a branch ."
Reasons for the coat of arms: The falcon reminds us that falcons were caught in the “Falkenburg” near Ankelohe in the 16th century and later to be trained for hunting. The beech leaves indicate the meaning of the word "Lohe = wood".
