history

Incorporations

As part of the regional reform in Lower Saxony , which took place on March 1, 1974, the previously independent neighboring municipality of Hainmühlen was incorporated into the municipality of Ringstedt.

On January 1, 2015, Ringstedt formed the new city of Geestland with the other municipalities of the combined municipality of Bederkesa and the city of Langen .

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Ringstedt comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.

	Blazon : "In blue a golden ring , inside a golden eagle head with a red beak and a red tongue."
	Justification for the coat of arms: The ring indicates the place name. The golden eagle's head is a symbol of the court and reminds us that Ringstedt used to be the seat of the court as the capital of a Börde .

In the village there is the volunteer fire brigade , a sports club (football, tennis, indoor sports), a shooting club and a golf course (Gut Hainmühlen Golf Club).

In the district of Wüstewohlde there is a youth hostel that offers overnight accommodation in the 10 existing summer huts or various campsites.
