Current coat of arms

The new design of the Kührstedt municipal coat of arms , which was created after the merger with the town of Alfstedt, is of unknown origin. Because the color red meets the color green in the coat of arms, the current coat of arms is not heraldically correct (see: Tinging - heraldic color rules ) .

Coat of arms of Kührstedt
Blazon : " Divided , above in red a growing silver oak tree , to the right and left a branch , each bearing three silver leaves and a golden fruit , below in green a silver wavy bar , covered with a black ship ."
Justification of the coat of arms: The two oak branches with the acorns stand for the two places Alfstedt and Kührstedt. The silver wavy line represents a river on which a ship is sailing. This symbolizes the Bederkesa-Geeste Canal running along the two locations and the freight traffic on it, which used to be important.

Old coat of arms

The old coat of arms of Kührstedt comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.

Coat of arms of Kührstedt
Blazon : "In green a silver heron with a golden beak and golden legs, accompanied by a golden clover leaf at thebottom right."
Justification of the coat of arms: The heron reminds us that until 1894 there was the only heron nest in the area in Kührstedt. The clover leaf indicates that the community corridor is mainly used as grassland.
