River (heraldry)

The river is a heraldic image in heraldry and is represented as a wavy bar . The preferred color is silver. The difference to the wavy bar is the wave display, but at least the wave indication on the bar surface. At stake , the term wave pile is in use.

Examples

Also Goepel and drawbar may appear wavy coat of arms. The base of the shield is occasionally also separated from the rest of the shield by a river (wave division) or is represented as such (sea, lake).
