history

The new formation of the municipality in 1974 led to violent protests in the Greater Spaden, especially because of the lack of direct connections and the separating Geeste . From 1971 to 1974 Bramel, Schiffdorf and Sellstedt were already more closely connected as independent member communities of the Geesteort joint community. Originally it was planned that Wehdel and Geemmeneth should not belong to the unified municipality of Schiffdorf. Instead, a joint joint municipality with Köhlen (today a village of the city of Geestland ), Frelsdorf and Wollingst (today both districts of the municipality of Beverstedt ) was planned, but was not formed due to the lack of local interest. Altluneberg, on the other hand, was incorporated into Wehdel in 1967. Schiffdorferdamm used to belong to Schiffdorf . Due to the urban densification in Schiffdorferdamm, the former municipality of Schiffdorf was to be completely incorporated into Wesermünde in 1927 . The district of Schiffdorf was allowed to remain independent after a site inspection, as the village was still classified as rural.

The local home nurses are Johann Bremer and Margarete Spornitz.

Incorporations

In 1929 the small peasantry Apeler was incorporated and thus became part of the municipality of Schiffdorf.

In the course of the territorial reform in Lower Saxony , which took place on March 1, 1974, the formerly independent communities Bramel, Geemmeneth, Laven, Schiffdorf (with Apeler), Sellstedt, Spaden, Wehdel (with Altluneberg) and Wehden were merged to form the unitary community of Schiffdorf.
