Udo from Soosten

Udo von Soosten (born March 24, 1923 in Wehdel , Wesermünde district ; † August 5, 1986 in Bad Oeynhausen ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After primary school, Udo von Soosten attended a state commercial school for two years. He trained as a farmer and then became a soldier in World War II from 1942 to 1945. After the end of the war, he attended a school for farmers in 1947.

He took over the chairmanship of the Wesermünde-Mitte drinking water association in Bederkesa and the chairmanship of a land consolidation in Wehdel-Geestineth. He was president of the Lower Saxony Association of Towns and Municipalities.

From 1956 he was elected to the council of the municipality of Wehdel, and five years later he became mayor and municipality director (as an honorary post). In the Wesermünde district he was elected as a member of the district council from 1964 to 1976 and from 1976 a district council member for the Cuxhaven district . From June 21, 1970 to June 20, 1986 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (7th to 10th electoral term).

He was married and had two children.
