Karl Müller (born July 18, 1896 in Dömitz , † October 5, 1966 in Bremerhaven ) was a German farmer and politician ( DP ).

Life

After attending grammar school in Hanover , Müller completed an apprenticeship in agriculture. From 1915 he took part in the First World War as a soldier , was deployed on the Western Front and seriously wounded in October 1918. At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by the British, from which he was released in 1919. A year later he began studying agriculture at the University of Göttingen , which he completed in 1922 with the state examination and the examination as a qualified farmer. From 1923 to 1928 he was the head of the agricultural advice center for the superphosphate industry in Magdeburg . In 1929 he bought an estate in Wehdel , which he ran as an independent farmer. In addition to his work as a farmer, he worked as an agricultural consultant at the Kalk Chemical Factory in Cologne until 1945 .

After the Second World War , Müller chaired various agricultural organizations. He was also chairman of the committee for economic advice in the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forests .

Müller joined the German Party (DP). In the federal election in 1953 , he was set up as a joint candidate for an electoral alliance of CDU , FDP and DP in the constituency of Cuxhaven - Hadeln - Wesermünde . He was directly elected and was a member of the German Bundestag until 1957 , from March 14, 1957 as a member of the DP / FVP parliamentary group. In Parliament he was a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry.
