Cuxhaven constituency

The Bundestag constituency of Cuxhaven was a constituency for the elections to the German Bundestag in Lower Saxony . It included the district of Cuxhaven .

history

The constituency was number 10 in Lower Saxony's constituencies in the 1949 federal election. For the Bundestag elections from 1953 to 1961 it had the number 32 and from the Bundestag election in 1965 the constituency number 24. In the Bundestag elections from 1949 up to and including 1961 the constituency was called Cuxhaven - Hadeln - Wesermünde .

The constituency area has not changed in the years of its existence. The entire time it consisted of the city of Cuxhaven , the district of Hadeln and the district of Wesermünde , which were merged in 1977 to form the new district of Cuxhaven.

In the course of the reorganization of the constituencies before the federal election in 2002, the constituency was dissolved and the constituency area was divided into the newly created constituencies Cuxhaven - Osterholz and Stade - Cuxhaven .
