Karl Hemeyer

Karl Hemeyer (born October 21, 1950 in Altluneberg / District of Cuxhaven), also known in English-speaking countries as Christopher Karl Hemeyer , is a German author and actor .

Life

After completing his military service, the trained banker worked initially in Bremerhaven and Bremen, later from Hamburg as a sales representative, sales manager and director of marketing and sales. After some further training (including attending the acting school Bühnenstudio in Hamburg founded by Hedi Höpfner in the 1980s ) and further training as a communication trainer and PR consultant , he worked from Berlin as a freelance consultant from 1993 and has been to Kazakhstan, Indonesia and Active in Hong Kong. Working on a textbook on rhetoric made him write. He completed further training in journalism and writing skills, was editor-in-chief and moderated his two-hour live broadcasts on topics from the fields of work, education, business and health at Germany's first talk radio station, News-Talk 93.6 in Berlin.

In 2006 Hemeyer took part in a television film about the life of Bertelsmann founder Reinhard Mohn . He later appeared in international films such as Operation Walküre - Das Stauffenberg-Assentat and Drei . In the Spiegel-TV / ARD / Arte documentary Schabowski's note he played the main role of the State Security Colonel Gerhard Lauter. This documentary has won several international awards, including the Gold World Medal from “The New York Festival” and the Grand Remi Award at the World Fest in Houston . Directed by Marc Brasse and Florian Huber, he played the main role of John P. O'Neill in the ZDF multi-part series September 11th, who was killed in the attacks on September 11th 2001 as security chief of the World Trade Center. To date, Hemeyer has appeared in more than 40 TV films. He is a member of the BFFS .

Hemeyer's first scripts The Hotel and Success were filmed under the direction of Norbert Ghafouri and screened at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2009 ( The Hotel ) and 2010 ( Success ) . In 2010 his first novel Olympia 1936 was published by Acabus Verlag . Then everything came. In 2012, he followed his first love novel Sylter Weihnachtswellen and two years later Decision in the Wadden Sea , which were also published by Acabus Verlag. In addition, Hemeyer writes documentaries for entrepreneurs and companies and appears as a speaker .

Hemeyer lives with his wife in Berlin.
