Trainer (further education)
The term trainer describes the leader of a seminar in the field of further education .
This can be an internal seminar for the employees of a company or an organization or a seminar of a further training institute. Trainers determine training content, methodology and didactics . The term trainer is often used in connection with the seminar topic he teaches: B: rhetoric coach , sales trainer, communications trainer , repartee coach , NLP trainer, computer trainer or SAP trainers.
Usually only the leader of completed block courses is referred to as a trainer. For the leaders of semester or trimester seminars and evening courses, the terms teacher, trainer, course leader, instructor or lecturer are more common.
Training activities include in particular:
- developed motivational skills
- in-depth knowledge of how teaching-learning environments work and how they should be designed in order to achieve efficient results
- an awareness of the role of a trainer, which is increasingly changing from a knowledge mediator to a moderator in teaching and learning environments
- Consulting competence
- Management competence in terms of entrepreneurial thinking and acting
- participation in new developments in the education system
In Austria, the SystemCERT certification program in accordance with ISO 17024 certifies the competence of a specialist trainer or coach. This certificate certifies that the trainer can be used to train adults and young people from the age of 15 by imparting specialist knowledge in the form of face-to-face lessons. Contents are u. a. Communication and presentation technology, conflict management, successful training and seminar design, understanding of group processes, group dynamics and team development.
