Meckelstedt ( Low German Meckelst ) is an incorporated village of the former municipality of Lintig . After a merger, Lintig again belongs to the city of Geestland in the Lower Saxony district of Cuxhaven .

Incorporations

In the course of the regional reform in Lower Saxony , which took place on March 1, 1974, the two previously independent municipalities of Meckelstedt and Großenhain were incorporated into the municipality of Lintig.

On January 1, 2015, Lintig formed the new city of Geestland with the other municipalities of the combined municipality of Bederkesa and the city of Langen .

The design of the municipal coat of arms of Meckelstedt comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Albert de Badrihaye , who designed around 80 coats of arms in the district of Cuxhaven.
