The joint municipality Bederkesa was a joint municipality in the district of Cuxhaven in Lower Saxony . Eight communities had come together in it to carry out their administrative business. The administrative seat of the joint municipality was in Bad Bederkesa .

Joint council

The council of the joint municipality Bederkesa consisted of 30 councilors and councilors. This is the specified number for a joint municipality with a population of between 12,001 and 15,000. On January 1, 2015, the city of Langen and the municipalities of the joint municipality of Bederkesa merged to form a new city.

There were six primary schools in Bad Bederkesa, Drangstedt, Elmlohe, Kührstedt, Lintig and Ringstedt and three secondary schools in Bad Bederkesa: the school center at An der Mühle , the school at Am Wiesendamm and the Lower Saxony boarding school (NIG).

In addition, Bad Bederkesa was also the seat of the Evangelical Adult Education Center.
