Alfstedt ( Alfst in Low German ) is a district of the village of Kührstedt in the city of Geestland in the Lower Saxony district of Cuxhaven .

geography

The village is located south of the borough Bad Bederkesa and north of Kührstedt. The neighboring villages of Drangstedt (in the northwest) and Lintig (in the east) are also a few kilometers away .

history

A close connection with the neighboring towns can be historically proven because the village and estate belonged to the Börde Ringstedt and the Bederkesa office centuries ago . The Bailiwick of Kührstedt also included Alfstedt. During the French period of several years around 1810, Alfstedt was assigned to the Bederkesa municipality in the canton of Beverstedt . Later higher administrative tasks were carried out again by the Bederkesa Office, Lehe Office (1859-1885), Lehe District (1885-1932), Wesermünde District (1932-1977) and Cuxhaven District, respectively. Alfstedt became an independent rural community in 1840. In 1876, the district of the same name was formed from the municipality .

Incorporations

In 1968 Alfstedt merged with the neighboring municipality to form the new municipality of Kührstedt. Kührstedt had been a member of the Bederkesa municipality since 1974, whose member municipalities merged with the city of Langen on January 1, 2015 to form the new city of Geestland.
