Large stone graves near Arendsee

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The megalithic graves near Arendsee were several megalithic graves of unknown numbers from the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Arendsee , a part of the municipality of Northwestuckermark in the Uckermark district ( Brandenburg ). They were destroyed in the 18th century. The only report about the graves comes from a manuscript by Johann Christoph Bekmann from the year 1712. He only writes that “hero beds ” ( giant beds ) and stone circles existed at Arendsee , but does not give any details about the location, number, shape and dimensions.
