Great stone graves near Basdahl
The megalithic graves near Basdahl were several megalithic graves of unknown numbers from the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Basdahl in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) ( Lower Saxony ). They were destroyed in the 19th century to obtain building material for road construction. A capstone is said to have been sold to Hamburg . Their exact location is not known. There is also no further information on the orientation, dimensions and type of grave.
Ernst Sprockhoff lists in his Atlas of Germany's Megalithic Tombs , Volume 3, p. 19 a large stone grave called Basdahl . However, this was south of Basdahl near Gnarrenburg and should be identical to the stone grave still preserved in Eichholz .
