Great stone graves near Beckdorf

The megalithic graves near Beckdorf were three megalithic graves of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Beckdorf in the Lower Saxony district of Stade in Germany .

The facilities were destroyed in the 19th century.

One grave lay northeast of Beckdorf, two more southwest close together.

The northeast grave was still quite well preserved around 1845. More precise information on orientation, dimensions and type of grave are not available.

The two south-western graves had rectangular barrows , each of which contained a three-bay burial chamber . They were already badly damaged by 1841, and many stones were missing from the surrounds. A capstone was missing from one burial chamber, one was blown up in the second. In the winter of 1842/43 most of the other stones were removed, only a few wall stones remained.
