The megalithic graves near Bengerstorf (also megalithic graves near Granzin ) were two megalithic tombs of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Bengerstorf in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). They were destroyed in the 19th century. Johann Ritter examined the graves in 1839. Robert Beltz led them together with the neighboring Granzin in 1899 when they had gone out.

location

The graves were north of Groß Bengerstorf in the direction of Granzin . They were in the forest on the Haid Mountains. They were about 50 paces (almost 40 m) apart in an east-west direction. The Granzin stone grave lay a few hundred meters to the northwest. There were also numerous Bronze Age burial mounds in the vicinity of the three large stone graves .

description

Grave 1

Grave 1 was a north-north-east-south-south-west oriented chamberless giant bed with a length of 50 paces (approx. 38 m) and a width of 15 paces (approx. 11 m). Ritter was able to determine a fairly well-preserved enclosure made of large stones, which in some places already showed traces of attempted removal of individual stones.

Grave 2

Grave 2 was also a chamberless giant bed. In terms of alignment and dimensions, it resembled grave 1. The stone enclosure had already been completely removed before Ritter's investigation.
