Great stone graves near Oćwieka

The megalithic graves near Oćwieka (also called megalithic graves near Woitfick ) were three megalithic graves of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Oćwieka ( German Woitfick ), a district of Przelewice (German Prillwitz ) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . They were destroyed in the 19th century.

location

The graves were located about 2500 paces (about 1.9 km) west of Oćwieka. Grave 1 was the middle one. Grave 2 was only 25 paces (approx. 19 m) south-east of grave 1 and grave 3 500 (approx. 380 m) paces north of grave 1. 500 paces (approx. 380 m) west of Oćwieka was another facility where it is unclear whether it was also a large stone grave or a burial mound .

Grave 1

Grave 1 had a long, north-west-south-east oriented rectangular barren bed . There is no information on the exact dimensions. The stone enclosure was already badly damaged by 1825. Nothing is known about a burial chamber .

Grave 2

Grave 2 had a short, north-west-south-east oriented, rectangular barren bed. There is no information on the exact dimensions. The stone enclosure was still well preserved around 1825, but some stones on the southwest long side had already been removed from their standing holes and were lying next to the bed. Nothing is known about a burial chamber.

Grave 3

Grave 3 had a long, north-west-south-east oriented trapezoidal barn bed. There is no information on the exact dimensions. The stone enclosure was still well preserved around 1825. Nothing is known about a burial chamber.
