Bookhof large stone grave
The large stone grave Bookhof was a megalithic grave system of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Bookhof , a district of Herzlake in the Emsland district ( Lower Saxony ). It was destroyed in the 19th century. According to Johann Karl Wächter , it was located between Bookhof and the rocks and was destroyed by treasure graves a few years before 1840. No information is available on the orientation, dimensions and type of grave. Ernst Sprockhoff was still able to find out that in the 1840s there were "giant stones" near the Felsen windmill . It may have been the remains of the grave.
