from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Drewelow was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Drewelow , a district of Spantekow in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was probably destroyed in the 19th century.

location

The exact location of the grave is not known. It is only given in a very general way as “on the farmer's tang in the village”. About 60 rods (approx. 230 m) away is the large stone grave in the Spantekower Forest .

description

The complex had an east-west oriented, trapezoidal barn bed with a length of 104 feet (approx. 33 m) and a width of 20 feet (approx. 6.3 m) in the east and 9 feet in the west (approx. 8 m). No information is available about a burial chamber , so the exact type of grave cannot be determined with certainty.

The grave in regional sagas

At the beginning of the 19th century, the residents of the grave believed that it was haunted. It should also frequently blue-white wisps have given (so-called "money burning").
