Schmietkow stone grave

The large stone grave Schmietkow was a megalithic burial complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Schmietkow , a district of Süderholz in the district of Vorpommern-Rügen ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was probably destroyed in the 19th century. The existence of the grave was recorded by hand in the 1820s by Friedrich von Hagenow . His notes, which were intended to record the entire inventory of the megalithic graves on Rügen and in New Western Pomerania , were published by Rudolf Baier in 1904 . The system at Schmietkow was only included in a list. Their exact location, dimensions and orientation are unknown. It is only noted that it was a large dolmen .
