description

In the large stone grave in the Alt-Frerener Forest, the mound of earth that once covered the facility is clearly visible. The 20.5 meter long chamber lies in an oval enclosure, of which only a few cap stones have survived. Most of the bearing stones of the chamber, however, have been preserved and are in situ . Three of the eleven cap stones are missing. Four are whole and the remaining four are only fragments. The clear width of the chamber is two meters near the center. The middle capstone is wide, but somewhat short, so that opposite the entrance a particularly wide bearing stone protrudes far into the chamber. An analogous, but reversed solution was also used for the Groß-Stavern 1 facility . The tapering from 2.0 to 1.5 meters towards both ends takes place in two jumps. The entrance is in the middle of the south side.
