The Grob G 120TP is a two-seat, aerobatic single-engine aircraft made by Grob Aircraft AG .
history
At the ILA 2010 in Berlin, Grob presented the further development of the Grob G 120A , the G 120TP. The G 120TP was developed as a training aircraft for military pilot training and further education. After its maiden flight on May 25, 2010, it was further developed to readiness for series production and finally type approval by EASA in May 2013.
construction
Like all of Grob's aircraft, the G 120TP is made of fiber composite material. The fuselage is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic, the wings are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . Conceived as a variant of the G 120A, the G 120TP was almost completely redeveloped in the course of the design phase, so that an independent aircraft was created that is no longer comparable with the G 120A.
technology
In addition to the analog basic configuration, the G 120TP has a glass cockpit consisting of four Genesys Aerosystems IDU-680 with 3D Synthetic Vision . The seats are still arranged in the side-by-side configuration in order to be able to optimally train future jet pilots as well as pilot students for transport aircraft and rotary wing aircraft. As an option, lightweight ejection seats from the Mk.17 model from Martin Baker , specially developed for the G 120TP, can be ordered here. The aerobatic training aircraft, which can be used for aerobatics up to +6 g to −4 g , is powered by a Rolls-Royce Turbo-Prop-Allison-M250-B17F engine with a 5-blade constant speed propeller with a diameter of 2.1 m MT propeller driven.
