August Grothues

August Grothues (born December 23, 1895 in Liesborn ; † May 8, 1990 ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and high school , Grothues studied medicine up to the Physikum , and then after an agricultural apprenticeship, took over and ran the parents' farm. He was married and had three children. He was a member of the Catholic student associations KStV Ravensberg Münster, KStV Germania Münster and KStV Baltia Kiel.

MP

From July 21, 1958 to July 23, 1966, Grothues was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was elected directly in the Beckum-Ost constituency.

From March 1958 to 1969 he was a member of the district council of the Beckum district .

Public offices

From March 1961 to July 1962 he was district administrator for the Beckum district.

Honors

On August 21, 1968, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. From 1931 to 1935 he was honorary mayor of the Liesborn-Wadersloh office. From 1935 he was an honorary citizen of the district Liesborn.
