Morgat caves

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Grottes of Morgat (Grottes Marines de Morgat) are located on the Crozon peninsula in the Finistère department in Brittany in France . They are divided into the Great Grottoes in the south and the Small Grottoes in the north of Morgat.

Big grottos

The main grottoes are only accessible from the port of Morgat by boat and - depending on the tide - only for about two hours a day. The boat trip is only worthwhile in good weather, but then offers rock formations worth seeing and play of colors in the water and on the rocks. The grottos are south of Morgat.

In addition to the two main grottos, the Grotte Sainte Marine and the Grotte des Normands , there are a number of continuous rock holes called Les Cheminées du Diable (Devil's Chimneys).

Small grottos

The small grottos are located north of Morgat. They can be reached on foot at low tide .
