Grotto Island (roughly translated from English Grotto Island ) is a narrow island with a serrated coastline west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 170 m north of Galíndez Island in the group of the Argentine Islands of the Wilhelm Archipelago .
Participants in the British Graham Land Expedition (1934-1937) led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill in 1935 made mapping and naming . It was named after an ice grotto on the island.
