Christa pit
The Christa mine was a uranium mine near Großschloppen in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .
Similar to the Werra mine near Weißenstadt , an attempt was made to mine uranium in the Christa mine. Work began in 1978 about 600 m east of the village. The occurrences between porphyry granite and metamorphic shale included pitchblende , umangite , klockmannite and berzelianite .
