The Heidkampsfundgrube is a former lignite mine in the Bensberg ore district in Bergisch Gladbach . The site belongs to the Heidkamp district .
history
Written references from the 18th century or earlier are not yet available for the Heidkampsfundgrube. The Royal Prussian Revierbeamte Schmidt had carried out a field inspection of the lignite mine of the court councilor Fauth in Steigerkamp and Schönhäuschen on January 25, 1819 and saw on this occasion that they had struck gold in the field of the courage of Stephan Kierspel. He therefore went back to the spot on October 30, 1819 and asked the owner of this guess at the time, the Frohnhalfen Friedrich Siegen, to apply for a loan, because lignite mining on the basis of guesswork could no longer be tolerated according to the Prussian mining law that had been in force since 1815 . Siegen raised objections to this and to the payment of a mountain tithe associated with the loan . His widow wrote to the Bergamt Siegen on December 4, 1819 . She announced that they did not intend to violate any legal provisions and would want to comply. The "highly commendable" mining authority is asked to grant the loan. Thereupon, the heirs of Siegen were confirmed on March 8, 1820 by the Royal Mining Authority in the Ministry of the Interior in Berlin that the Bonn Mining Authority had issued them on February 8, 1820 the loan "over the lignite mine on Heidkamp bey Gladbach" . The name Heidkampsfundgrube appears for the first time in an official order of the Royal Government, Department of the Interior of Cöln and the Royal Higher Mining Authority in Bonn on August 6, 1841, whereby it was decided to acquire several parcels in the large meadow and Hundswiese parcels and some meadow parcels near the Kieppemühle in order to be able to create deeper drainage ditches.

Location and relics
The Heidkampsfundgrube field bordered in the east on the part of the Alte Kölnische Strasse, which runs in a north-south direction. Heidkamper Strasse was the border in the south. Today the parking lots of the Zanders paper mill begin to the north at the field border . In the hinterland of the residential development on Alte Kölnische Strasse and north of Heidkamper Strasse there is a depression in the site. In some places it is surrounded by heaps .
