The pit Prince Frederick was in Wilnsdorfer district Oberndorf in Siegen-Wittgenstein .

Deep tunnel in the Leimbachtal

The passage means of the pit were:

  • Prince Friedrich : The corridor was 425 m long and up to 1 m thick, but largely undeveloped.
  • Pickhardt Gang : The corridor of the consolidated Pickhardt mine was 330 m long and 1.3 m thick.
  • Blauer Hessel : The corridor was 178 m long and only partially worth building.

The deep Pickhardt tunnel in the Leimbachtal and a wing location in the Tiefen Silberqueller Erbstollen in the Obersdorftal served as tunnels . In 1848 the mine consolidated with hand ax and first luck , in 1878 the consolidation with Pickhardt followed . The company was later bought up by the nearby Ant mine . Civil engineering was carried out in the 88 m deep Blaue Hessel shaft , where day breaks occurred in September 2007. In 1872 the largest production was achieved with 3,145 t of iron stone. In 1903 the company was stopped.
