Overburden dump of the Rubin mine in the upper Schindelbach

The Rubin mine was an iron mine near Sechshelden ( Haiger municipality ) in the Lahn-Dill district . The pit was between Sechshelden and Haiger in a wooded area in the upper Schindelbach south State Street 277. Removed was about 1858-1872 iron .

The main tunnel is unlikely to have been 40 m long (source: map showing the tunnel). Today the overburden dump of the pit and the presumed location of the buried tunnel mouth hole can still be seen.
