The Rupertus mine is a former non-ferrous metal ore mine in the Bensberg ore district in Overath . It was east of the village of Bengelshöhe in Vilkerath .
history
There is little information about the Rupertus mine. There was a first request for speculation for lead ore, blende and copper ore on March 21, 1863. After five further speculations in the period from 1863 to 1867, the final hearing took place on March 16, 1868 and the subsequent award on July 12, 1868. On October 27 In 1873 an application was made to expand the award to include pebbles , which was complied with with the award document of December 17, 1873.
Operation and facilities
The point of discovery was in Scheidsiefen am Hagen, east of the village of Bengelshöhe. In 1873 a 40 meter long tunnel with an 18 meter long passage was excavated. Only prospecting was carried out. In the files, the Rupertus mine is listed under the "corridors not built" .
