Gruberellidae

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The division of living beings into systematics is a continuous subject of research. Different systematic classifications exist side by side and one after the other. The taxon treated here has become obsolete due to new research or is not part of the group systematics presented in the German-language Wikipedia.

The Gruberellidae are a taxon of protists consisting of two monotypical genera. They were counted as a separate group to the Heterolobosea, but later went into the Tetramitia .

features

Gruberellidae are single ( Stachyamoeba ) or multinucleated ( Gruberella ) cells. They do not develop fruiting bodies. The nuclear bodies disintegrate during mitosis . There are no flagellated stages, but one has been observed in an indefinite marine Stachyamoeba . Their determination has been questioned and cannot be confirmed because the trunk was lost. The amoeba can have fine, pseudopod-like cell processes.

Way of life

Gruberella is marine, Stachyamoeba lives in freshwater or terrestrial.

Systematics

The Gruberellidae was the smallest of the three groups of the Heterolobosea and comprises only two species:

Their relationship has not been confirmed by molecular genetics.

Later systematics they summarized with their sister taxa, the Vahlkampfiidae and the Acrasidae , to the group of Tetramitia .
