Grundbachtal Bridge

The Grundbachtalbrücke is a 450 m long railway bridge on the high-speed line Hanover – Würzburg . It lies between the districts of Tiefenbrunn and Olenhusen in the Lower Saxony community of Rosdorf .

The structure crosses the Grundbach valley (where the Grundbach and Luhbach flow together) to the west of the federal motorway 7 and the district road 34. It has 15 openings with a span of 26.5 m. The clear height is up to 20 m.

Location and course

The route is straight. The gradient rises continuously in a southerly direction.

To the south there is a 2 km long dam (km 104/105) and a 2.8 km long incision. The Leinebuschtunnel follows at km 108.5 .

history

The structure marks the southern edge of the planning approval section 4.1 ( route kilometers 102.5 to 105.6). During the construction phase, the basic creek had to be relocated slightly to avoid a pillar in the creek. The building was equipped with two meter high parapets on both sides as noise protection. With a planned construction time of 35 months, 19,500 m³ of concrete and 1,000 t of reinforcing steel should be used.
