The Harmonie primary school is located in Eitorf in North Rhine-Westphalia and is one of four state primary schools there . It is named after the hamlet of Harmonie .
Teaching features
Work is carried out across grades and subjects. The school places a focus on introducing people to independent learning, on teaching people to take responsibility through learning arrangements in cooperative democratic structures. She became particularly well known u. a. through the reference to Freinet pedagogy and open teaching ( Falko Peschel ).
English is taught as a foreign language. Since 2000 there have been Turkish lessons taught by parents. In the 2009/10 school year, Spanish will be offered three times a week. Since the same school year, the primary school Harmonie inclusion school.
organization
In a children's parliament, a school assembly and a class council, the children themselves decide on school life. Individual learning takes place in self-agreed groups and not in the usual class. Together with the community elementary school there is an elementary school exchange with a partner school in Bedfordshire.
Awards
In 2006 it was among the 18 of 481 schools nominated for the German School Prize in the final selection and in 2007 received the seal of approval for Individual Support NRW, the environmental prize of the Rhein-Sieg district.
