Gualdino Mauro dos Santos Barreto , short Gualdino Mauro (born July 13, 2000 in São Tomé ) is a São Toméischer football player on the position of a midfielder .

Club career

Gualdino Mauro was born on July 13, 2000 in São Tomé, the capital of the African island state of São Tomé and Príncipe. Nothing is known about the beginning of his career. In 2018 at the latest, he played in the youth division of the Portuguese capital club Belenenses Lisbon and last played in the U-19 team until summer 2019. Mauro did not work at Belenenses SAD , the professional football department that had been split off from Belenenses Lisbon since summer 2018, and switched to Portuguese second division CD Cova da Piedade in summer 2019 . At the club from the town of Cova da Piedade , he was primarily active in the second men's team. For the team that plays in the AF Setúbal 1ª Divisão , the highest league within the Associação de Futebol de Setúbal and a fifth-class football league nationwide, he made his competitive debut on October 13, 2019 at the latest and has subsequently come to this point (status: 27. January 2020) in ten championship games. In addition, he has so far (as of January 27, 2020) completed four cup games in the AF Setúbal Taça .

National team career

Soon after a debut in the Portuguese senior football Mauro received the convocation in the National Soccer Team of Sao Tome and Principe , in which he coach Gustave Clément Nyoumba on 13 November 2019 in the first group match of the qualifiers for the African Nations Cup in 2021 against the Sudan for the first time uneingesetzt on the Substitute bench for the senior national team in his home country. On November 18, 2019, Mauro made his international debut in the second group game against Ghana , when he came onto the pitch for Harramiz in the 76th minute of the narrow 1-0 defeat in his home country . A week later Mauro completed another international match that ended in a clear 7-0 defeat against Portugal and in which Mauro played through the full 90 minutes.
