Zhoukou Guandi Temple

The Guandi Temple of Zhoukou ( Chinese  周口 关帝庙 , Pinyin Zhōukǒu Guāndì miào , English Guandi Temple of Zhoukou ) is a temple dedicated to Guan Yu - who is worshiped as the god of war under the name Guandi - in Zhoukou in the Chinese province of Henan . It is located on the north bank of the Ying He颍 河River . The temple, built in 1693 in the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty , was originally the "Shanshan Guild Hall" ( 山 陕 会馆 , English Shanxi Shaanxi Guild Hall  - "Shanxi Shaanxi Guild Hall ").

He has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (4-176) since 1996 .
