The Guangdong Pumped Storage Power Plant , also called Guangzhou Pumped Storage Power Plant , is a pumped storage power plant in the area of the urban district of Conghua in Guangdong , China . The electricity is generated by eight turbines and generators , each with a nominal output of 300 MW , for a total of 2,400 MW. It will be delivered to China Light and Power's customers in Hong Kong . The first four turbines were completed in 1993.
The facility consists of two reservoirs. Both storage facilities have a capacity of 23.4 million cubic meters.
