Guermond I. (Bethsan)

Guermont I (also Gremont ; † after 1174) was Lord of Bethsan in the Kingdom of Jerusalem .

He was the son of Adam II of Bethsan from the French noble family Béthune . At the latest in 1161 he followed his father as Lord of Bethsan .

He was married to Margarethe von Beirut, daughter of Guido II Brisebarre , Lord of Beirut. With her he had seven children:

  • Walter, ⚭ I) Douce Porcelet, ⚭ II) Theodora Komnena, divorced wife of Bohemond III. of Antioch
  • Amalrich
  • Philip
  • Richilde ⚭ Baldwin von Ibelin , Lord of Mirabel around Ramla

  • Stefanie, ⚭ Philipp Rufus

It was last mentioned in a document in 1174. After his death, his eldest son Adam III followed him. as Lord of Bethsan.
