Guestphalia (more rarely Guestfalia ; pronounced "Westfalia") was and is the name of many student associations . Most are historical country teams from defined recruiting areas or associations that have emerged from these, mostly corps .

Colours

Originally, its members came mainly from the eponymous Westphalia , which was elevated to the Kingdom of Westphalia in the French era . Accordingly, their color is predominantly green-white-black, the basic color of student hats and pekes are often green. In many Guestphalen coats of arms or federal emblems , the white Sachsenross can be seen on a red background, which also adorns the state coat of arms of Lower Saxony and the Westphalian part of the coat of arms of North Rhine-Westphalia .
