Guido Chiesa

Guido Chiesa (born November 18, 1959 in Turin ) is an Italian director .

Life

Chiesa had lived in the US since 1983 and worked with Jim Jarmusch on Stranger Than Paradise and Down By Law ; then he began staging his first short films and video clips. He also wrote books. After returning to his native country, he shot his first full-length feature film in 1992, Il caso Martello , with which he won the Grolla d'oro .

In addition, he works irregularly for the cinema, mainly short and documentary films . His films are characterized by passionate research and often deal with recent Italian history.

In 2008 he directed the lavish television miniseries Quo vadis? .
