Guido Eilenberger

Guido Eilenberger (born February 13, 1940 in Kitzbühel , Tyrol) is a German economist of Austrian origin.

University professor

After studying law and economics and working as a research assistant at the University of Munich , most recently as Academic Director , Guido Eilenberger was a lecturer and visiting professor at the University of Innsbruck and the TU Chemnitz . From 1991 to 1993 he worked as a professor at the Catholic University of Eichstätt , from 1993 to 2006 as a full university professor and holder of the chair for general business administration, banking and finance at the University of Rostock (Meyer Struckmann endowed professorship) and from 1997 to 2004 as a director of the institute for business administration at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. In addition, he held positions as director of the Institute for Banking Law and Banking at the University of Rostock and as head of the Center for Banking Research (ZBF), Rostock. Research stays took him to the USA (New York and Chicago) and Southeast Asia (Hong Kong and Singapore). Since 2006, Guido Eilenberger has been professor emeritus with a focus on international banking and international financial management.

Guido Eilenberger's teaching and research work has three main focuses:

In this context, numerous monographs were created as sole author and with the participation of other authors, as well as numerous relevant specialist articles on current topics. Guido Eilenberger's scientific method is of an analytical-empirical nature. The research results obtained on this basis lead to practical-normative statements in the sense of a decision-oriented business administration to support and substantiate the actions of the management of companies. In this sense, his fundamental studies in banking management (basics, international banking services and bank management) and in corporate finance (financial policy and financial management of companies) are exemplary. In addition, he is editor and co-editor of relevant book series.
