Guido Krause (born March 27, 1964 ) was a soccer player at 1. FC Magdeburg , for whom he played from 1982 to 1991 in the GDR Oberliga , the highest soccer class of the East German soccer association.

At the age of seven, Guido Krause began playing football in the boys' team at 1. FC Magdeburg. He went through all mandatory junior teams until he was accepted as a student in the squad of the league team as a nominal striker for the 1982/83 season. Although he had already played in the first team in the cup game at Stahl Brandenburg on September 18, 1982 , he had to wait until April 16, 1983 for his first league appearance. In the match between Chemistry Böhlen and 1. FCM on the 21st match day , he came on for Jürgen Pommerenke in the 86th minute. Otherwise, Krause played for FCM in the junior league. For the 1983/84 season, the junior league was dissolved, and their teams were incorporated as the 2nd team in the respective third-class district league . Krause was nominated for the team 1. FC Magdeburg II, but he was also called up six times in the league this season. However, he was only used in all games as a substitute. In the 1984/85 to 1986/87 seasons Krause was delegated to BSG Motor Schönebeck, with whom he played in the second-rate GDR league from 1986 to 1987 . In the summer Krause returned to 1. FC Magdeburg, was initially nominated for the 2nd team, but also played five point games with the league team. Although he was always in the starting eleven, he never played for the full 90 minutes. It was not until the 1988/89 season that he reappeared as a striker in the official Oberliga squad, now managed as a sports student. Meanwhile 24 years old, the knot seemed to have burst with him, because he made ten top division games this season. On matchday 20, in the match between 1. FCM and Energie Cottbus, he played his only 90-minute game in the GDR league. In 1989/90 Krause's last season was in the GDR Oberliga, he was used again in ten league games, again only as a substitute. Within eight years he came to a total of 32 GDR league games, scoring two goals. At the beginning of the 1991/92 season Krause played five more games in the then third-class NOFV-Oberliga , after which he no longer appeared in higher-class football.
