from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Guido von Thouars ( Guy de Thouars ) († April 13, 1213 in Chemillé ) was the third son of Gottfried V (Geoffroy V), Vice Count of Thouars , and was Duke of Brittany ( duc baillistre ) on his behalf from 1203 to 1206 Wife, the Duchess Konstanze of Brittany .

He and Konstanze († 1201), the widow of Duke Gottfried II , had two daughters:

  • Alix (* 1200; † 1221), the future Duchess of Brittany.
  • Katharina (1-5 September 1201; † 1237/1240), married André III de Vitré ( House Vitré ) in 1212
  • Perhaps Margarete (* 1-5 September 1201; † 1216/1220), ∞ with Gottfried I, Vice Count of Rohan

In 1203 he followed - on behalf of his daughter - his stepson Arthur I , who had been murdered by the English King John Ohneland , but the French King Philip II took control of the duchy and forced Guido, his daughter with Peter Mauclerc in 1213 from the house of France-Dreux , although she had previously been engaged to the young Heinrich von Avaugour .
