Guigues IV. (Albon)
Guigues IV , called the dolphin , ( French Guigues le Dauphin ; † June 28, 1142 ), was a Count of Albon in Viennois from the House of Albon .
Guigues first called himself " Delfin " ( Delfinus ) in a donation made around 1122 to the Abbey of Bonnevaux . He repeated this in a contract with Bishop Hugo II of Grenoble from 1140. This name became a title among his descendants, was used as a heraldic animal and also gave their country the name " Dauphiné ". The title of the French heir to the throne from the late Middle Ages onwards.
Guigues led a feud against the Count of Savoy . He was fatally wounded in a fight near La Buissière . He was buried in the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Grenoble .
He was married to Clementia / Margarete von Mâcon, a daughter of Count Stephan Tollkopf von Mâcon . Your children were:
