Magic Software Enterprises ( NASDAQ : MGIC) is an international provider of software platforms for enterprise mobility, cloud applications and business integration. The company headquarters are in Or Yehuda , Israel , in Germany the branch is in Ismaning near Munich.

The main products are the Magic xpa development and application platform and the Magic xpi integration platform. Magic Software was the first company to be listed on both NASDAQ and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE).

history

Magic Software Enterprises was founded in 1983 by David Assia and Yaki Dunietz as a spin-off from Mashov Computers, a listed Israeli company that provided business solutions for microcomputers. The new company was originally called Mashov Software Export (MSE) and developed software for the global market, specifically an application generator called Magic.

Mashov's great innovation was a metadata-driven approach to programming that required neither compilation nor linking and also allowed instant debugging. In the 1980s the company grew by selling the DOS and UNIX platforms. The product has been used by many large companies such as the Israel Defense Forces .

In 1991 the company changed its name to Magic Software Enterprises (keeping the abbreviation: MSE) and became the first Israeli software company on NASDAQ. During this time the company developed a close relationship with IBM; The focus here was on the AS / 400 systems. The first version of Magic for Windows was released in mid-1995.

In 1998 the company was taken over by the Formula Group , led by Dan Goldstein . In the years that followed, the company saw rapid growth in sales and profits, and a second stock offering in February 2000 raised it over $ 100 million and traded on a company valuation of $ 1 billion.

In 2001 Magic released eDeveloper , a graphical, rule-based and event-driven framework that offered a precompiled database engine for business tasks and a variety of generic service terms and functions.

In October 2003 Magic released iBOLT , an integration platform, and in July 2008 the first version of uniPaaS , the application platform that replaced eDeveloper, was released.

In 2011 Magic released a .NET version of uniPaaS and started a new offer for enterprise mobility.

In May 2012, Magic started a major, company-wide rebranding that included a new logo, slogan, and website. uniPaaS was renamed Magic xpa application platform and iBOLT was renamed Magic xpi integration platform.

In November 2017 Magic will introduce Magic xpc, a new iPaaS solution for cloud integration.

Magic's customers include adidas Canada, BNP Paris Real Estate, CBS Outdoor, Club Med, Finanz Informatik, Honda Europe, Merill Lynch, Mitsubishi and Paprec.

The company offers strategic consulting, training and coaching, project management, application development and delivery, migration services, business process management and integration, outsourcing and managed services and customer support.
