The iBOLT Business Integration Suite is an integration platform with which the various software solutions in a company can be connected ( Enterprise Application Integration ) in such a way that simple data exchange is guaranteed. IBOLT is manufactured by the Israeli company Magic Software , which launched the first version in 2003. IBOLT now has special versions for SAP R / 3 or ERP , SAP Business One, SAP All-in-One, Salesforce.com and JDEdwards / Oracle . In the German-speaking market, however, the software is less successful in the JDE environment than in the SAP and Salesforce.com environment.

Magic Software is placed with iBOLT by the analysts at Gartner in their Magic Quadrant for Application Infrastructure for Back-End Application Integration Projects as a visionary. Extensive functions such as conversion , human workflow , modeling , composition, portals and business activity monitoring were cited as the reason for this placement . In addition, the large and global iBOLT network of partners ( ISVs , resellers and system integrators ), as well as the range of iBOLT special versions for certain integration scenarios for SAP, Salesforce.com, JDE Connect and iSeries systems, were rated positively.

The analysts at Forrester Research see iBOLT as a strong performer for SOA in application server platforms with strengths in architecture, development and software use and weaknesses in standard support and some advanced functions.

iBOLT functions as a connecting data hub within a software landscape through which applications can exchange their data without interface programming. It takes data from the original application - for example from a CRM system - transforms it into a format that can be processed by the target application and then sends it there, for example to a financial accounting system.

Since iBOLT already has prefabricated interfaces and adapters, no new interfaces have to be developed, which greatly shortens integration projects. In addition, the so-called integration platform simplifies the entire IT infrastructure: Instead of connecting company applications one-to-one, which leads to confusing and complex connections, companies put iBOLT at the center of all communication lines. In this networking configuration, iBOLT represents the hub in a wheel that connects everything ( hub-and-spoke architecture ). Which software ultimately communicates with which software via iBOLT is determined by users on a graphical interface. In this way, iBOLT integrates software by dragging and dropping instead of programming interfaces.

iBOLT comprises a library with more than 50 interfaces. This includes database, messaging and communication interfaces as well as connectors to services and a data mapper. Is also supported XML , SQL , JMS , WebSphere , MSMQ, HTTP , SOAP , WSDL , UDDI and FTP .

Above all, it can also incorporate data that is actually foreign to the system, for example payment arrears from the financial accounting system, into the CRM system. Thus, the sales department receives an expanded and more complete view of its customers and can act accordingly better.
